The "go depth 5 searchmoves g2g4" command was only an example to speed up the demonstration. The main idea is : in a position where the engine hasn't enough time or good hardware to reach a great depth, it will store a move at shallow depth on its experience file. With your settings, in the same position, it will play this move from its experience file without trying to search for a better move nor reaching greater depth. That's why Khalid set min depth 27 by default else the engine could play very weak moves when we use its experience file as book.
