Both super grandmasters have played well up to now. But the interesting point is that GM Carlson
Has played these two games with imbalanced materials and he had success to hold the positions
And games draw. Maybe the 73 Elo difference between to great chess players shows itself in these critical conditions.

Nepo was a fiasco.

Fabian0o Caruana would have done a better performance.

Since 1990 that I have started to follow the chess world championship match between Kasparov and
Karpov as a teenager up to now this recent match in 2021 was the only match that I didn’t feel any excitements.Even in Kasparov-Short match although Kasparov was so stronger than Nigel Short but GM Short tried his best and at least played some sharp lines of Sicilian defence which was interesting for chess fans. Congratulations and great appreciations to GM Carlsen for his fifth consecuative winning world chess championship and I want to say he did his best and even tried to make the match more attractive by sacrificing some materials and holding the positions with material imbalances in some games. But this time GM Nepomniachtchi was completely far from his ideal form and golden days. Instead he managed the games to some death draws and had some unexpected mistakes from a super grandmaster like him. He even couldn’t get positional advantage in one game. I don’t talk about winning ,just get a positional advantage. After losing in marathon game(game 6) it was obvious that he didn’t have good condition any more and he began his dramatic and unexpected mistakes. This time chess fans didn’t have the chance to follow a hot and exciting match. As I mentioned one of the opponents was totally out of his form. I wish in future we would have the opportunity to see more attractive games in world chess championship apart from who will win the match.

Best regards

but finds Nepo in the now already legendary game 6-move 36:
36. Rc2 Bxb4 (instead of Dd5) then he has a real chance of winning...

Image

then the pawn becomes really dangerous...

but of course it would not have been enough to win the tournament-Magnus was not really in trouble in any of the games...
could of course also be due to the fact: he just can!! :sm36:

dear chess mate, d2d4,

nice found-moves there,

btw, from sf analysis,
when Nepo delay the bishop came to b2
from move 30 to move 31,
it's also makes Carlsen position slightly better.

best regards,
mi.

absolutely mibaskom!!
it was a blunder from Magnus to play 33.Rd1?
33. Rcc2 would have been the right and winning answer (according to SF with +3.75)

the position after 32. ... Qd6:
