Thanks for the survey Hurnavich - the Topalov win I will have a look at plus the Bacrot. I have yet to exploit CB16's new features.
CB 16 is awesome with survey you can build a survey from main ref DB based on engine games too...
Is it just ONE database at a time or could CB16 build a survey using multiple bases like when we search multiple databases ?
I'm still grasping it i think it works on whatever DB you have fixed as main reference with golden crown eg i have it linked to Playchess best games over a million over the last few years however you can click reference change it to a different db then build from there or use server.
you can manually enter lines and build from any point to expand it's brilliant for book tuning see screen shot of linked sever finds which you can add and load found games then go novelty mining on top off that then export or save in a db with copied survey you can merge survey with game posted and in corporate it then import all lines to book if you wanted to then colour as required...as you can see phase two of my Ruy Lopez book is been worked on.

Slav and semi are well tuned more to go
I have great plans for my new book will be six months in the making...

look at server games in box to left
I have some time today - no responses from my ICCF opponents - so can have a good look at CB16 - thanks for the information/tips.
Was pleasantly surprised early this morning - I hardly ever check my opponents games or antecedents but when I looked at my opponents name (again) there seemed to be a little onfusion in my head. Admittedly I only had my first cup of java .. !
The confusion centred on his name and the country he represented - so I checked his details and .. .. my opponent is a 12-year old FIDE member .. I definitely did NOT need a second cup.
The game is still in the opening stage and he opened with d4 and of course I responded with f5 - my usual very exciting response .. wacko
I've reached the end of my mental acuity which I never had much of anyway .. .. this opponent an IM no less refuses to accept the draw I offered many moves ago instead wanting to stretch the game until its adjudicated a draw.
Well I do love animals but then there are asses and jackasses .. I just cannot manoeuvre the pieces to force a draw - not sure I can anyway.
A win at last against a slightly higher rated opponent - he blundered horribly unfortunately.
Wins in this type of tournament are a rarity since all participants are strong and use all sorts of resources.
I have two more games about halfway through in this tournament and SHOULD I draw both I SHOULD get an IM norm ..

He is already a super-duper grand master yoda. Hopefully he'll play against Carlsen next year.
I offered to play against Carlsen twice already - he refused - he has no wish to have his chess playing skills annihilated by a super-duper grand master yoda. I claimed the wins ..
Results slow coming in.
Have an idiot (an IM no less) who recognizes game is a draw but prefers to continue playing - adjudication in June.
Will upload that game then.
This game against SIM with a slightly higher rating - he made a horrible mistake.
He resigned soon afterwards.
Evenly matched opponent with about the same ELO.
Regrettably his playing deteriorated in step with his medical condition and I would have been OK to just call it a draw.
But of course ICCF rules being what they are .. not fond of winning this way.
He is (was) connected to the Italian Federation.
A win against a slightly lower rated player <100 ELO.
Played well until move 13 when he played Qe6 which is not what I expected.
I love surprises (sub-optimal moves) !!
With this game drawn I scored an IM norm - chances of actually becoming one and I calculated this very accurately are exactly 16 trillion to one and would take me exactly 121 years, 3 months and 16 days.
