Using a list of top players that I put together, which can be found here:
https://chessnerd.net/chesscom-top-players-list.txt
and using a GUI downloader that I got from here:
https://github.com/George-Kaloudis/Chess.com-Game-Downloader
which makes use of the Chesscom Published Data API, which can be found here:
https://www.chess.com/news/view/published-data-api
I've started to put together PGNs of strong games for each letter of the alphabet. Knowing how big this project is, it's best that I post the letters as I finish them, because there's a good chance that I will never reach the end. It also gives someone else a chance to fill in the blanks, if they would ever want to.
# (121K games)

A (1.28M games)

B (1.09M games)
https://chessnerd.net/cc-strong/chesscom-strong-b.7z
Z (222K games)
https://chessnerd.net/cc-strong/chesscom-strong-z.7z
All games have been unannotated and then filtered in ChessBase and only the "strong games" kept. (Strong games seem to be games that are at least ten moves, where the players have at least an average of 2400.) Doubles have been removed, but if you combine these files you will undoubtedly find more.
There are other downloaders, BTW, but this is the most efficient one that I've found. If you sit with it, you can do 100 names in an hour.
Chesscom has given us free reign to download their PGNs, but you have to do them one at a time. So the brute force approach is necessary.

Taking a break after this one. The next installment will be L.
K (836K games)
https://chessnerd.net/cc-strong/chesscom-strong-k.7z
All strong games, according to ChessBase, so that means they're at least 10 moves, with players on average at least 2400. Unannotated. Doubles removed, although if you combine these files, you will find more.

This one took a while, but there's not actually that much here, comparatively. The next part of the project will be U through to Y.
L (658K games)

All the games have been filtered in ChessBase and only the "strong games" kept, i.e. games of at least 10 moves with players at least an average of 2400. Unannotated, with doubles also removed -- although if you combine these files, you'll find more doubles.
