Meanwhile, just I'd like to add...perhaps my experience will help....
For example,
In the past, when I was as frequent Playchess player during 2008-2009,
https://sites.google.com/site/computerschess/playchess-rating-may-october-2009

My i7-920 machine is played with HT as disabled...
For example,, to be sure...which is better HT OFF or HT ON...
Before...I ran many HT benchmarks...so later when I was sure ...I started to play online...

And not only Rybka engine, plus many other engines performed better via HT as disabled...

Sure I mean for older INTEL processors...

Regarding my latest Ryzen7 4800H machine,
HT ON is slightly better than HT OFF

It seems,
Latest AMD's Hyper-Threading architecture is improved over the past years!

But I can not say same words for my 2x E5-2686 machine
I get better results when HT as disabled...

Btw, for anyone missed
I have some experience with CPU benchmarks too, not much but I have:

Hopes help,
