I have some games to play at ICCF that are midway through and my opponents are a bit tardy/lackadaisical responding so I get a few days off chess now and then - restful but I get the opportunity to at least consider what to expect from them when they do respond. So I was looking forward to a very restful period ahead when kaboom my name pops up in a Final - I am playing White starting in a couple of weeks against a gaggle of >2400 ELO IM's/SIM's and the ghost of Xmas Future too maybe ..

With this performance you've got to wonder how soon before I'm hung, drawn and quartered ..

Against d4 I will play the Mighty Dutch .. again .. and against e4 the timid e5 .. I may swallow a few brave pills and play c5 .. I dont like the Sicilian I always get clobbered ..

A huge miscalculation (I'm sure) by my opponent an IM who played 4 ... Bg7 and got clobbered.
I was expecting Nf6 and was rather surprised by his move - downhill from thereon unfortunately.
With this win my provisional rating is now above 2370 - dollars to donuts this time next month it'll be below 2350 ..
